We probably have several of these if we dig deeply, l.et
me know how far you want me to go with these.
Terry
From: Matthew Ledvina [mailto:miledvina@nrg-Ilc.com]
Sent: Friday, July 11, 20Q8 2:23 PM
To: Johnson, Terry; jeldem@geomatrlx.com; 'John.elks@pca.state.mn.us`
Cc: Dave Lucas; Haug, Rebecca
Subject: l=1k River Landfill -Work Plan for Interim Monitoring Wells for SDA
I reviewed the Wark Plan which was recently developed by WMI and Geomatrix (AMEC) for two interim wells along
the 10-year phase boundary of the SDA. The proposed plan is acceptable.
In reviewing the lithology in the vicinity of 321-OWA and 322-OWA, boring results from SB-17, SB-18 and SB-19
indicate the occurrence of fine-grained deposits (SM and ML/CL) in the vicinity of the well screens. Cross-sections
from the Hydrogeologic Evaluation Report far the SDA indicate that the top of the finer-grained deposits is at
roughly elevation 942 feet, while the target elevation for the base of the well screens is elevation 940 feet.
Wfth the potential vertical variability of the fine-grained deposits, the City requests that no more than 50 percent of
the length of the screen penetrate Into SM and ML/CL deposits that may occur in these locations. This will help to
ensure the suitability of these wells in providing groundwater samples for the unconfined outwash water table
aquifer.
Please contact me if you have any questions or comments.
Regards, Matt.
Matthew L.
