The ERL routinely monitors and tests emissions from the landfill, enclosed. flare, and <br />landfill gas to energy plant as required by both the facility's air quality and solid waste <br />permits, and will continue to do so. There is a potential for odor releases from the <br />additional landfill footprint, however, this potential is not an increase over current <br />conditions. <br />Safet <br />The landfill will adhere to applicable safety standards. <br />Equi~nent and Storage Facilities <br />Adequate equipment will be supplied and available to conduct activities at the site. <br />Si name <br />The ERL maintains a sign at each entrance to the landfill property stating the name oCthe <br />facility, the schedule of days and hours the facility is open to the public, prices for use of <br />the facility, the MPCA permit number, and contact information. No new entrances are <br />proposed, thus additional signage will not be needed. <br />2. l~Vill be consistent with. tfre conzpreltensive plan. <br />The proposed expansion is located within the portion of the existing 137.4-acres landfill <br />property, which is within the solid waste facility (SWF) overlay district and guided <br />"Landfill" in the City's 2004 Comprehensive Plan. The plan states that the "Landf If use <br />is consistent with the current land use plan." <br />3.
