The Public Worl<s Department <br />The Public ~%orks Department is comprised of tour separate di~-isions, Street ~Iaii~tenance <br />(including Equipment Ser~-ices), Building Maintenance, Waste«ater, and Engineering. The <br />department is responsible for the planning, design, constntction and maintenance operation <br />of all water s~rstems, sanitary sewer s~rstems, storm water s~-stems, and roadways along with <br />the maintenance operation for all Cit< facilities. <br />Engineering Division -The Cit<r's Engineering di~-ision provides project management and <br />plan re~Tiew of public impro~-ement projects, appro~-a1 and o~-ersight of developer installed <br />pri~-ate impro~-ement projects, assists with the City's NPDES requirements, and carious GIS <br />functions. Engineering sei-~ ices for the Cit< ha~re preti iousl~ been contracted with <br />consultants. <br />The Cit<r Engineer will be instil~mental in planning infrastnicture expansion into cuiYenthr <br />underde~-eloped ~ueas of the city. There will be opportunities to design roads, water and <br />surer sei-~rice ~uea expansions, ~u~d to be part of planning and reviewing new de~-elopment <br />within the City. The City engineer will be in~rol~ed in management of the storm eater <br />system including state ~u~d federal requirements and will pla~r a significant roll in mapping <br />and GIS functions.
