18. PAID HOLIDAYS <br />Employees will be paid for eight (8) hours at their regular wage rate for each of the <br />following holidays: <br />New Years Day <br />Martin Luther King Day <br />Presidents Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veterans Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Friday following Thanksgiving Day <br />Christmas Eve Day <br />i 123"ist171aS Day <br />If the holiday falls on a Saturday, the previous Friday will be observed. If the holiday <br />falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be observed as a holiday. <br />19. PERSONAL LEAVE DAY <br />Each June 1 S`, every regular employee will be credited with one day of paid personal <br />leave to be taken at employee's discretion with the approval of management. <br />20. LEAVE OF ABSENCE <br />A leave of absence, with pay and fringe benefits may be granted to a regular full-time <br />employee for a maximum of three (3) days in the event of the death of a spouse, child, <br />parent, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, or parent-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in- <br />law, grandparents-in-law, step-parents, step-siblings and step-children. <br />21. JURY DUTY <br />A regular full-time employee called for jury duty shall be granted a leave with regular <br />pay, less the amount paid as jury duty pay. <br />22. DISMISSAL OR LAY OFF <br />All new employees shall be on probation for a period of one hundred eighty (180) days. <br />Continued employment during this period shall rest solely with the discretion of <br />the Utilities Commission. Subsequent to that period, the employee shall attain regular <br />status subject to the following: <br />Employees on regular status may be dismissed only for cause, which may <br />include, but is not limited to, the following: Improper conduct or language, <br />insubordination, failure to do the work assigned, dishonesty or stealing, <br />sale, transfer of, or possession of, or being under the injluence of intoxicating <br />beverages or controlled or mood altering substances while on the job. <br />\\ennuserverUiome$\peggy\Misc.
