Bidder <br />Triple Combination Pumper Specifications for the 6 Complies <br />City of Elk River Minnesota Yes No <br />If the successful bidder does not manufacture the chassis, the bidder shall supply a separate <br />warranty bond, in addition to their performance bond, along with their signed contract. This <br />warranty bond shall guarantee all terms and conditions of the warranty and names both the <br />bidder and chassis manufacturer as co-principals. This warranty bond shall be issued for the <br />contract amount and shall remain in force for a term, which is consistent with the term of the <br />warranty quoted in the bid. <br />PERFORMANCE BOND <br />The successful bidder shall furnish a 100% performance bond within ten (10) days of the <br />contract award. <br />The performance bond shall be furnished by the company who shall build the apparatus being <br />proposed. A performance bond issued by a sales representative, or agent, of the manufacturer <br />shall not be acceptable. Any exception to this requirement shall not be tolerated. <br />CHASSIS <br />Chassis provided shall be a new, tilt-type custom fire apparatus. The chassis shall be designed <br />and manufactured for heavy-duty service, with adequate strength, capacity for the intended <br />load to be sustained, and the type of service required. <br />SEATING CAPACITY <br />The seating capacity in the cab shall be six (6). <br />WHEELBASE <br />~The wheelbase of the vehicle shall be no greater than 191.00". <br />GVW RATING <br />The gross vehicle weight rating shall be a minimum of 42,000#. <br />FRAME <br />The chassis frame shall be built with two (2) steel channels bolted to a minimum of six (6) <br />cross members. The side rails shall have a 13.38" tall web over the front and mid sections of <br />the chassis, with a continuous smooth taper to a 10.75" over the rear axle. Each rail shall have <br />a section modulus of 25.992 in. sq. and a resisting bending moment (rbm) of 2,859,122 inch <br />pounds over the critical regions of the frame assembly, with a section modulus of 18.96 in. sq. <br />with an rbm of 2,085,803 inch pounds over the rear axle. The frame rails shall be constructed <br />of 110,000 psi yield strength heat-treated .38" thick steel, with 3.$0" wide flanges. <br />FRAME RAIL WARRANTY <br />The flame rails shall be guaranteed for the life of the vehicle against defects in design, material <br />or workmanship, excluding accident or abuse. A copy of the fire apparatus manufacturer's <br />warranty shall be included with the bid. <br />Page 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
