Bidder <br />Triple Combination Pumper Specifications for thc 61 Complies <br /> <br />Cit of ElkRivcr Minnesota Yes No <br />Except where superseded by the requirements of NFPA 1901, all components, equipment and <br />installation procedures shall conform to NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (herein referred to <br />as the NEC). <br />Line voltage electrical system equipment and materials included on the apparatus shall be listed <br />and installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. All products shall be used <br />only in the manner for which they have been listed. <br />Grounding <br />Grounding shall be in accordance with Section 250-6 "Portable and Vehicle Mounted <br />Generators" of the NEC. Ungrounded systems shall not be used. Only stranded or braided <br />copper conductors shall be used for grounding and bonding. <br />An equipment grounding means shall be provided in accordance with Section 250-91 <br />(Grounding Conductor Material) of the NEC. <br />The grounded current carrying conductor (neutral) shall be insulated from the equipment <br />grounding conductors and from the equipment enclosures and other grounded parts. The <br />neutral conductor shall be colored white or gray in accordance with Section 200-6 (Means of <br />Identifying Grounding Conductors) of the NEC. <br />In addition to the bonding required for the low voltage return current, each body and driving <br />or crew compartment enclosure shall be bonded to the vehicle frame by a copper conductor. <br />This conduCtor ~hall have a minimum amperage rating of 115 percent of the nameplate current <br />rating of the Power source specification label as defined in Section 310-15 (amp capacities) of <br />the NEC. A single conductor, properly sized to meet the low voltage and line voltage <br />requirements shall be permitted to be used. <br />All power source system mechanical and electrical components shall be sized to support the <br />continuous duty nameplate rating of the power source. <br />Operation <br />Instructions that provide the operator with the essential power source operating instructions, <br />including the power-up and power-down sequence, shall be permanently attached to the <br />apparatus at any point where such operations can take place. <br />Provisions shall be made for quickly and easily placing the power source into operation. The <br />control shall be marked to indicate when it is correctly positioned for power source operation. <br />Any control device used in the drive train shall be equipped with a means to prevent the <br />unintentional movement of the control device from its set position. <br />A power source specification label shall be permanently attached to the apparatus near the <br />operator's control station.
