Bidder <br />Triple Combination Pumper Specifications for the 47 Complies <br /> <br />City of Elk River Minnesota Yes No <br />Where vibration or chassis flexing may damage or loosen piping or where a coupling is <br />required for servicing, the piping shall be equipped with victaulic or rubber couplings. <br />All lines to drain through either a master drain valve or shall be equipped with individual drain <br />valves. All individual drain lines for discharges shall be extended with a hose to drain below <br />the chassis frame. Ail water carrying gauge lines shall be of flexible polypropylene tubing. <br />All plumbing used for foam concentrate shall be stainless steel, brass or hose with stainless <br />steel fittings if it cannot be flushed. The plumbing installed for foam solution shall be black <br />iron to prevent "flaking" of the pipe coating. Ail piping suction and discharge lines 2.50" or <br />larger, which are used for water only, shall be heavy-duty galvanized pipe. Sweat soldered <br />copper tubing shall not be acceptable. <br />MAIN PUMP INLETS <br />A 6.00" pump manifold inlet shall be provided on each side of the vehicle. The suction inlets <br />shall include screens that are designed to provide cathodic protection for the pump, thus <br />reducing corrosion in the pump. <br />The main pump inlets shall have National Standard Threads with a long handle chrome cap. <br />SHORT SUCTION'TUBE <br />The suction tubes on the midship pump shall have "short" suction tubes to allow for installation <br />of adapters without excessive overhang. <br />VALVES <br />Ail discharge valves shall be controlled at the pump operator's panel. <br />INLET (Left side) <br />On the lef~ side pump panel shall be one (1) - 2.50" auxiliary suction, terminating in 2.50" <br />National Standard Hose Thread. The auxiliary suction shall be provided with a strainer, <br />chrome swivel and plug. The location of the valve for the one (1) inlet shall be behind the <br />pump panel. <br />INLET CONTROL <br />Control for the side auxiliary inlet(s) shall be located at the inlet valve. <br />INLET BLEEDER VALVE <br />A .75" ball type bleeder valve shall be provided for each side gated inlet. The valves shall be <br />located behind the panel with a handwheel type knob for the control extended to the outside of <br />the panel. The water that is discharged by the valve shall be routed below the chassis frame <br />rails. <br />Page 47 <br /> <br /> <br />
