Bidder <br />Triple Combination Pumper Specifications for the 46 Complies <br /> <br />City of Elk River Minnesota Yes No <br />When dry, the pump system shall be capable of taking suction through 20 feet of hard suction <br />hose and discharging water in not more than the time allowed by NFPA pamphlet # 1901 <br />(section 4-1.2.2). Also, rated capacity of the pump shall be achieved at the lif~ stated in NFPA <br />#1901 (table 4-1.3.1a). <br />AIR BLOWOUT VALVE <br />A blowout shall be furnished to blow out any remaining water from the individual discharge <br />line. <br />Blowout shall be piped from the wet tank of the brake system, and shall be controlled at the <br />pump operator's panel. <br />HEAT ENCLOSURE <br />A heat enclosure shall be installed, trapping hot air radiated from the engine exhaust system, <br />which shall warm the fire pump. The enclosure shall consist ora 12 gauge galvanneal steel <br />understructure, with easily removable panels. Also a covering above the pump shall be <br />provided, so warm air cannot escape freely. <br />RECIRCULATING LINE <br />A .$0" diameter recirculating line, from the pump to the water tank,, shall be furnished with a <br />control installed at the pump operator's control panel. <br />PUMP WARRANTY <br />A two (2) year warranty on the parts shall be provided for the pump by the pump <br />manufacturer. <br />PUMP MANUALS <br />Two (2) pump manuals from the pump manufacturer shall be furnished with the apparatus. <br />Manuals shall cover pump operation, maintenance, and parts. <br />PUMP TEST <br />The pump shall be tested, approved and certified by an independent third party testing agency <br />at the manufacturer's expense. The test results along with the pump manufacturer's <br />certification of hydrostatic test, the engine manufacturer's certified brake horse power curve <br />and the manufacturer's record of pump construction details shall be forwarded to the Fire <br />Department. <br />PLUMBING <br />All inlet and outlet lines up to 3.00" shall be plumbed with either heavy-duty threaded pipe or <br />synthetic rubber hose reinforced with hi-tensile polyester braid. Larger inlets and outlets can <br />be threaded or welded black iron pipe. If hose is used, it must have a minimum burst rating of <br />1,000 psi and be equipped with high-pressure brass or stainless steel couplings. <br />Page 46 <br /> <br /> <br />
