Synthetic rubber side, top and bottom seals shall be provided to resist <br />ingress of dirt and weather. <br />All hinges, barrel clips and end pieces shall be type-6 nylon. End pieces shall be riveted to each <br />lath. Nylon shall withstand temperatures from plus 300 to minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. <br />Hardened plastic shall not be acceptable. <br />A stainless steel lif~ bar shall be provided for opening door. Lift bar shall be located at the <br />bottom of door and have latches on the outer extrusion of the door frame. A ledge shall be <br />supplied over lift bar for additional area to aid in closing the door. <br />Door(s) shall be constructed from an aluminum box section with a wall thickness of .03937" <br />and a face depth of 1.30". Inside surfaces shall be smooth to prevent loose equipment from <br />jamming on the inside. <br />To conserve space in compartment, the spring roller assembly shall not exceed 2.50" in <br />diameter. A roll-up door which, retracts below compartment ceiling (garage door style) shall <br />not acceptable. The header for the roll-up door assembly shall not exceed 4.00". <br />A heavy-duty magnetic switch shall be used for control of "open compartment door" warning <br />lights. <br />PULL-OUT TRAY <br />There shall be two (2) slide-out trays with 2.00" sides and a minimum capacity of 500 pounds <br />provided. Capacity rating shall be in the extended position. <br />Slides shall be ball bearing type for ease of operation and years of dependable service. <br />Automatic locks shall be provided for both the "in" and "out" positions. The trip mechanism <br />for it shall be located at the front of the tray for ease of use with a gloved hand. <br />Tray location shall be determined at a later date by the Elk River Fire Department. <br />Heavy-duty steel angle iron assembly shall support the body under the compartment floor. It <br />shall be attached to the chassis frame for load transfer and to reduce stress on body. <br />The outside surface of the each beavertail shall be covered with aluminum treadplate.
