Crossmembers <br />shall be constructed of steel bar channel or rectangular tubing. <br />Tank shall "float" in cradle to avoid torsional stress caused by chassis frame flexing. Rubber <br />cushions, .50" thick x 3.00" wide, shall be placed on all horizontal surfaces that the tank rests <br />on. <br />Stops or other provision shall be provided to prevent an empty tank from bouncing excessively <br />while moving vehicle. <br />Mounting system shall be approved by the tank manufacturer. Fill tower shall be constructed <br />of. 50" polypropylene and shall be a minimum of 8.00" wide x 14.00" long. <br />Fill tower shall be furnished with a .25" thick polypropylene screen and a hinged cover. <br />An overflow pipe, constructed of 4.00" schedule 40 polypropylene, shall be installed <br />approximately halfway down the fill tower and extend through the water tank and dump to the <br />rear of the rear axle. <br />The foam cell inside the water tank shall not reduce the capacity of the water tank. <br />WATER TANK WARRANTY -. <br />The tank shall have a lifetime warranty. <br />ItOSE BED <br />The hose body shall be fabricated of. 125"-5052 aluminum with a 38,000 psi tensile strength. <br />Hose body width shall be a minimum of 68.00" inside. <br />Upper and rear edges of side panels shall have a double break for rigidity, a split tube finish <br />shall not be acceptable. <br />The upper inside area of the beavertails shall be covered with polished stainless steel to prevent <br />damage to painted surface when hose is removed. <br />Flooring of the hose bed shall be removable aluminum grating with the top surface corrugated <br />to aid in hose aeration. The grating slats shall be a minimum of.50" x 4.50" with spacing <br />between slats for hose ventilation. <br />Hose bed shall accommodate 1500 feet of 2.50" and 400 feet of 1.50" hose. <br />Two (2) adjustable hosebed dividers shall be furnished for separating hose. <br />Page 32 <br /> <br /> <br />
