Compartments shall be totally enclosed with removable covers. <br />Heavy-duty battery cables shall be used to provide maximum power to the electrical system. <br />Cables shall be color-coded. <br />Battery terminal connections shall be coated with anti-corrosion compound. Battery solenoid <br />terminal connections shall be encapsulated with semi-permanent rubberized compound. <br />JUMPER STUDS <br />One (1) set of battery jumper studs with plastic color-coded covers shall be installed on the <br />front side of battery box on drivers side. This shall allow enough room for easy jumper cable <br />access. A tag shall be provided for positive/negative terminals. <br />BATTERY CHARGER <br />A single system battery charger shall be provided. The charger shall have a maximum output <br />of 20 amps. A charge indicator shall be provided on the driver side seat riser to show if <br />charger is operating. <br />The battery charger shall be wired to the 120-volt shoreline to activate automatically when <br />power is connected. Battery charger shall be located in the front left body compartment, <br />mounted in the upper forward portion of the compartment. <br />ALTERNATOR <br />An alternator shall be provided. It shall have a rated output current of 340 amp as measured <br />by SAE method J56. Also, it shall have a custom three (3)-set point voltage regulator. The <br />alternator shall be connected to the power and ground distribution system with heavy-duty <br />cables sized to carry the full rated alternator output. <br />EI,ECTRONIC LOAD MANAGER <br />An electronic load management (ELM) system shall be provided that monitors the vehicles 12- <br />volt electrical system, automatically reduces the electrical load in the event of a low voltage <br />condition, and automatically restores the shed electrical loads when the low voltage condition <br />expires. This ensures the integrity of the electrical system.
