State of the art electrical system design and components shall be used to insure <br />radiated and conducted EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio frequency <br />interference) emissions are suppressed at their source. <br />The apparatus proposed shall have the ability to operate in the electromagnetic environment <br />typically found in fire ground operations. The contractor shall be able to demonstrate the <br />and RFI testing which has been done on similar apparatus and certifies that the vehicle <br />proposed meets SAE J551 requirements. <br />EM3YRFI susceptibility shall be controlled by applying appropriate circuit designs and <br />shielding. The electrical system shall be designed for full compatibility with low level control <br />signals and high-powered two (2)-way radio communication systems. Harness and cable <br />routing shall be given careful attention to minimize the potential for conducting and radiated <br />EMI-RFI susceptibility. <br />RADIO ANTENNA MOUNT <br />An antenna mounting base, Model MATM with 17 feet of coax cable and weatherproof cap <br />shall be provided for a two-way radio. <br />The mount shall be located on the cab roof just to the rear of the officer seat. <br />The cable shall be routed t© the officer side seat box with enough cable for customer to route <br />to the instrument panel if needed. <br />BATTERIES <br />Two (2)-12 volt, 1400 CCA, 435 minutes of reserve capacity, high cycle, group 8D batteries <br />with a system rating of 2800 CCA at 0 degrees Fahrenheit and 870 minutes of reserve capacity <br />shall be provided. The batteries shall be provided with SAE posts. <br />BATTERY SYSTEM <br />A single starting system shall be provided. <br />An ignition switch and starter button shall be located on the instrument panel. <br />MASTER BATTERY SWITCH <br />A master battery switch, to activate the battery system, shall be provided inside the cab within <br />easy reach of the driver. <br />An indicator light shall be provided on the instrument panel to notify the driver of the statuS of <br />the battery system. <br />Page 27 <br /> <br /> <br />
