The ideal site/community would <br />have the following attributes: <br /> <br />Acreage - Minimum of 10 acres (without softball/baseball) or up to 35 - 40 <br />acres with five softball/baseball fields. <br />Reasonable visibility and access to major highways and transportation <br />system. <br />Adjacent to schools and/or educational facilities. <br />Adjacent to hospitality services including restaurants and availability of <br />+_300 hotel rooms within 10 mile radius. <br />Cooperative City/local participation <br /> <br />PROJECT'S ECONOMIC IMPACT <br /> <br />This facility will be designed to serve as a focal point of Minnesota Sports <br />Federation's tournament activities and training programs. The integrated sports <br />complex concept, anticipating both the indoor volleyball/basketball facility and the <br />outdoor softball/baseball complex would be expected to generate approximately 100 <br />tournaments and events per year. <br /> <br />In addition to week night play and the tournaments, it is expected that the complex <br />would be utilized a minimum of 40 out of the 52 weekends per year which would <br />generate a significant amount of out of town travelers to the facility. On a <br />conservative basis, it would be estimated that the facility would be utilized by over <br />75,000 participants and spectators which would generate a minimum of $5,000,000 <br />of local expenditures, in addition to having the facility available for local participants <br />and programs. <br /> <br /> <br />
