· All existing hydrants will be replaced and possible additional hydrants added. <br /> The location of new hydrants will be discussed with Fire Chief Bruce West. <br /> <br />The proposed watermain improvements are shown as Exhibit 7. <br /> <br />VI. CITY/MUNICIPAL UTILITIES COORDINATION <br /> <br />On December 5, 2002, Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Lori Johnson, City Finance <br />Director; Bryan Adams, Municipal Utilities General Manager; and Terry Maurer, City <br />Engineer met to discuss coordination issues involved in the 2003 Pavement <br />Rehabilitation Improvements. A copy of the meeting minutes is provided in Appendix C. <br />It was agreed at the meeting that the Municipal Utilities would fund all of the construction <br />costs associated with their water improvements. The construction costs would include a <br />pro rato share of the mobilization bid item based on construction costs, and a pro rato <br />share of the signing during construction based on length of construction. In addition, the <br />Municipal Utilities agreed to pay a percentage of construction cost for plan and <br />specification preparation. This percentage is proposed to be 10 percent. Finally, the <br />Municipal Utilities agreed to pay directly for services during construction, including <br />construction staking, construction observation, contract administration and record <br />drawing preparation. <br /> <br />VII. RIGHT-OF-WAY, EASEMENTS, AND PERMITS <br /> <br />Right-of Way and Easements <br /> <br />No right-of-way will need to be acquired for the street improvements. <br /> <br />Temporary construction easements may be 'required throughout the project area to <br />accommodate driveway repair, water service replacement, and/or finished grading. <br />Verbal permission will be secured from private property owners during the construction <br />process should work need to be completed on private property, outside of obtained <br />rights-of-way. <br /> <br />Permi~ <br /> <br />Several permits will be required prior to construction of the proposed improvements. <br />Required permits include, but are not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />· Minnesota Department of Transportation <br />· Minnesota Department of Health <br />· Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br /> <br />Work in the Right-of-Way <br />Watermain <br />Grading <br /> <br />VIII. INFORMATIONAL HEARING <br /> <br />An informational hearing was held on November 6, 2002 with residents and the City <br />Engineer. The project was discussed and residents were encouraged to voice their <br />concerns and to ask questions. Issues of concern raised were possible tree removals <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />
