Special City Council Meeting Page 2 <br />March 12, 1996 <br /> <br />Denise Henflcks, 11337 205th Avenue, is concerned os to what the Council really <br />wants. Ms. Henricks asked why the Council should propose something we do <br />not need. <br /> <br />Mark Marlin, 11063 205th Avenue, stated we need to look of smaller upgrades <br />of the existing roads. Mr. Martin suggested the Transportation Plan needs to be <br />studied more. <br /> <br />Loren Schumacher, 14380 190th Avenue, stated he is an engineer and if has <br />been his job fo look at planning and engineering reports. Mr. Schumocher is not <br />in favor of this plan and suggested there should be further studies. <br /> <br />Sue Arnold, 20328 Smith St., stated she has been o resident for over 30 years <br />and would like a piece of the country to stay in Elk River. <br /> <br />Roger Eboo, 18880 Boston St., owns 80 acres and is concerned for the 4 lanes <br />going through his property. Mr. Eboo would not be able to afford the <br />assessments. <br /> <br />Robin Tuttle, 13324 Ranch Road, expressed her concerns and wondered who we <br />are looking ahead for. Ms. Turtle stated it seems like the City is trying to assess <br />everyone out of their land for big business. <br /> <br />Mark Olson, 18784 Yanldon, stated if a bridge goes in by his property it will go <br />dght over the top of his house. <br /> <br />Piotr Bednarsld, St. Louis Park, Biathlon Coach, stated that of every ski trail he has <br />seen around the country, Woodland Trails is one of the best. Woodland Trails <br />Park is an asset to this community as compared to any international ski trail. <br /> <br />Klm Pact, 14290 205th St., is a new resident. The reason her family moved to Elk <br />River was to get away from traffic. Ms. Pact stated the road will mainly consist of <br />big trucks. <br /> <br />Unda Allen, 20460 Meadowvale, is also a new resident who moved here from <br />South Minneapolis. Ms. Allen rides her horses and her kids ride their bikes in their <br />neighborhood without any worries. Ms. Allen feels this road will generate more <br />truck traffic. <br /> <br />Scott Brobeck, 13822 211th Avenue, entered into the record a letter he received <br />from Terry Humbert, State of Minnesota Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />Arne Engsfrom, 20800 Meadowvale, expressed how proud he is of Elk River. Mr. <br />Engstrom has lived here all his life and dedicated most of his life to the City of Elk <br />River and trusts the decision of the Council members. <br /> <br />Dave Schwarting, Sherburne County Engineer, Mr. Schwarting stated the County <br />is still working on their transportation plan. The City has been involved in the <br />County process. Mr. Sahwarting also stated there will always be someone who is <br />going to be affected and the County and City need to do projects as the City <br />grows. <br /> <br /> <br />
