SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br /> MARCH 12, 1996 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman, Councilmembers Farber, Scheel, Holmgren and <br />Dietz (ardved at 7:35} <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Steve Ach, City Planner;, Terry Maurer, City Engineer;, Michelle <br />Dwyer, Recording Secretary <br /> <br />1. .Call Meetina To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the Elk River City <br />Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Duitsman. <br /> <br />2. Consider A.qenda <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE MARCH 12, 1996 COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. COUNCIl. MEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />3.1 Consider Comprehensive Transportation Plan, Public Hearin.~ <br /> <br />Terry Maurer, City Engineer, presented the Comprehensive Transportation Plan <br />and the transportation study which was passed by the Planning Commission fo <br />the Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman opened the public hearing at this time. <br /> <br />Ore Sachs, 13337 Meadowvale, stated he is not in favor of the Transportation <br />Plan. <br /> <br />Mike Chamber, 20188 Pascal St., questioned whether the Transportation Plan is <br />good for the City of Elk River. The Council should serve the people, not the <br />corporations or themselves. <br /> <br />Dave Anderson, 14845 County Road 30, stated he understands the need for long <br />range planning. The Steering Committee recommended involving other cities <br />and townships. Mr. Anderson recommended approving what the Steering <br />Committee proposed. <br /> <br />Clair Olson, 10476 205th Avenue, expressed concern on the future sale of his <br />property and stated the Transportation Plan would greatly affect his property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz arrived at this time (7:35' p.m.) <br /> <br /> <br />
