We also had a growing number <br />of city employees participating in adult wellness programs through the Recreation <br />Department. There seemed to be a desire to have more available and more information <br />about what was currently available by many employees. At the September department head <br />staff meeting, it was decided that we should form a committee and look at what we have, <br />what we could add, and then to make sure that employees know about what's available. <br /> <br />Committee Goals <br />The committee has met twice and come up with the following objective: <br />. To educate and promote wellness for city employees. <br /> <br />Our areas of focus are: <br /> <br />. Physical activity <br /> <br />. Nutrition <br /> <br />. Health Management <br /> <br />We have been gathering information from other cities and have been working with our <br />health insurance carrier to find out what is available to us. We have also purchased a <br />program from the American Heart Association with covers the following areas: <br />
