City Council Minutes <br />August 19, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />7.1. <br /> <br />7.2. <br /> <br />7.3. <br /> <br />7.4. <br /> <br />Consider Resolution Awarding the Contract for Watermain Extension to the Public Works <br />Facility. <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer stated that bids have been opened for the watermain extension <br />to the public works building. City Administrator Pat Klaers stated that there would be some <br />additional expenses for the sprinkling system in the public works building and that the <br />funding source for this project is the streets reserve. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 02-80 <br />ACCEPTING THE BID BY MP NEXLEVEL, LLC IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$48,658.65 AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT IN THE <br />MATTER OF THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING WATERMAIN EXTENSION <br />OF 2002. COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Consider Boston Street Petition for City. Utilities <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer stated that a petition has been received from homeowners along <br />Boston Street. He stated that five of six property owners signed the petition. He stated that <br />staffwould l/ke to hold an informational meeting with residents along Boston Street and <br />Concord Street, the only two streets in the area that are not serviced by city sewer and water. <br />Mr. Maurer stated that he is unsure of how property owners along Concord Street feel about <br />receiving city services. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Council that staff hold an informational meeting for residents <br />before completing a feasibility study. <br /> <br />Discuss Naples Street/186th Avenue Area <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer stated that a resident located at Naples Street and 186th Avenue <br />inquired into whether the city could extend utilities in his neighborhood. He gave a brief <br />history of why utilities were not extended to this neighborhood. <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers suggested that the resident obtain a petition of 35% of the <br />property owners is his neighborhood to gauge the interest in city utilities. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Council that the city hold an informational meeting for the <br />neighborhood. <br /> <br />Updates on En_oneering Projects <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer provided an update to Council on various city projects, <br />developer initiated projects, and other miscellaneous engineering issues. <br /> <br />Inter-regional Corridor Studies for Highway 10 and Highway 169 <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing discussed the proposed Dayton/Ramsey river crossing. She explained the <br />need to study an alternative route for this traffic rather than relying on Highway 10 and <br />Highway 169 in Elk River. <br /> <br /> <br />
