<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Bed and breakfast establishment means an owner occupied residence with up to five <br />guest rooms providing accommodations on a transient basis. The length of stay is limited <br />to one week; breakfast is the only meal served and is limited to registered guests only. <br />Billboard. See Advertising sign. <br />Block means the enclosed area within the perimeter of roads, property lines or boundaries <br />of the subdivision. <br />Bluff means a topographic feature such as a hill, cliff, or embankment having the <br />following characteristics (an area with an average slope of less than 18 percent over a <br />distance for 50 feet or more shall not be considered part of the bluff): <br />(1) Part or all of the feature is located in a shoreland area; <br />(2) The slope rises at least 25 feet above the ordinary high-water level of the water <br />body; <br />(3) The grade ofthe slope from the toe of the bluffto a point 25 feet or more above the <br />ordinary high-water level averages 30 percent or greater; and <br />(4) The slope shall drain toward the water body. <br />Bluff impact zone means a bluff and land located within 20 feet from the top of a bluff. <br />Boardinghouse means any dwelling other than a hotel, motel, or apartment where meals <br />and lodging are provided for compensation to four or more persons unrelated to the <br />owner or possessor, pursuant to previous arrangement. <br />Boulevard means the portion ofthe street right-of-way between the curb line and the <br />property line. <br />Boulevard sign means any stationary self-supported sign fixed to a base flush to the <br />ground and not affixed to any other structure. <br />Buildable land area means the gross land area less the unbuildable land area that includes <br />floodways, hydric and restrictive soils, land with slopes over 33 percent, wetlands and <br />areas that cannot accommodate septic systems. <br />Building means any structure having a roof which provides shelter or enclosure for <br />persons, animals, chattel, or property of any kind.
