<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> <br />-Experience in: <br />-Code inspection/enforcement <br />-Public education <br />-Investigations <br />-Training <br /> <br />-Prefer college degree in management administration, fire <br />science, fire protection engineering, mechanical engineering <br />or related field <br />-Desire completion of Fire Prevention Control Class <br />-Knowledge of public speaking techniques and ability to make <br />presentations to large or small groups <br />-Ability to read blueprints to determine compliance with fire <br />codes <br />-Considerable knowledge of fire codes, building codes and <br />state laws as well as rules and regulations relative to fire <br />prevention and investigation <br /> <br />TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: <br /> <br />Vehicle, radio, pager, personal computer, calculator, phone, <br />first aid equipment, rake, shovel, portable lights <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Develop and administer a Public Education/Fire Prevention program <br />for schools, churches, civic organizations and commercial or <br />industrial groups. <br /> <br />Perform periodic inspections of all existing commercial/industrial <br />buildings, multiple dwelling structures and other buildings <br />used for public assembly to assure fire code and life safety <br />compliance. <br /> <br />Develop and maintain a program to provide current pre-fire plans <br />for each multiple dwelling complex, commercial/industrial site <br />and places of public assembly. <br /> <br />Perform and document inspections of day care facilities as <br />requested. <br /> <br />Provide expertise and interpretation of fire and life safety codes <br />for staff, contractors and the public. <br /> <br />Supervise or coordinate the investigation of all fires with <br />significant loss or of questionable nature. <br />
