Assists contractors and other members of the <br />public with fire code requirements and interpretations. Performs <br />administrative and supervisory work directing the activities of <br />Assistant Fire Marshals and performs related duties as required. <br />Coordinates and directs Public Education, Fire Prevention and Fire <br />Department Training programs and acts as Fire Prevention Public <br />Information Officer for the City. This position reports directly <br />to the Fire Chief, however, this position has a close relationship <br />with the Building Inspection Division of the Community Development <br />Department. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> <br />-Valid Minnesota Driver's License <br />-Requires three (3) years of experience in fire code <br />inspection/code enforcement and previous experience as a <br />firefighter <br />-Completion of recognized Arson Investigation Course <br />-Must be a certified training instructor <br />-Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally <br />and in writing <br />-Considerable knowledge of principles, practices, techniques, <br />equipment, tools and sciences applied to fire prevention, <br />training and investigation <br />-Ability to deal effectively in difficult situations <br />-Ability to establish effective working relationships with <br />staff, co-workers and the public. <br />
