<br />Economic Development Authority Minutes <br />April 9, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />10.1 Elk River Pins <br /> <br />Sandy Thackeray, City Clerk, stated that she has been researching the <br />purchase of metal City of Elk River pins. She stated that she would <br />like direction from the EDA regarding the style of pins. After <br />discussion regarding the City of Elk River pins it was the consensus of <br />the EDA that the City Clerk order a small number of metal City of Elk <br />River pins identical to the style of the plastic pins so that the EDA <br />can determine whether they want to keep this style after seeing the <br />pins. <br /> <br />10.2 City Float <br /> <br />Chairman Tralle stated that at the last City Council meeting the City <br />moved to spend $1,850 from the EDA budget for the purchase of a City of <br />Elk River float. He stated that because the money would be coming from <br />the EDA budget, the motion would have to come from the EDA to expend <br />the monies. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER HOLMGREN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE EDA TO SPEND $1,850 FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE ELK RIVER FLOAT. <br />COMMISSIONER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE A CHECK OF $925 (1/2 OF <br />THE $1,850) PAYABLE TO GRAY DISPLAY FOR THE EXPENSES OF THE FLOAT. <br />COMMISSIONER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />10.3 Executive Director Uodate <br /> <br />Pat Klaers stated that Dick Fursman has received a letter from a law <br />firm in regard to Dr. Jarmoluk and Dr. Nyberg and the relocation of <br />their dental business. He stated that they are looking at a residential <br />property on a commercial site located on Main Street, and that they are <br />requesting city assistance. Executi ve Director Klaers stated that <br />staff would like to review the request and talk to the doctors <br />regarding this matter and then get back to the EDA with a report at the <br />5/12/90 EDA meeting. <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, Executive Director, stated that there will be a <br />groundbreaking ceremony on April 11, 1990, at 1:00 p.m. for the 51 unit <br />apartment building to be built at School Street and Proctor Avenue. <br /> <br />Pat Klaers stated that the City may be entering into serious <br />negotiations with property owners of Parcel B. He indicated that <br />Parcel B is east of Ridgewood East Park and west of the cemetery. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Pat Klaers stated that Dick Fursman is meeting with a developer on <br />April 10, regarding Block A. He further stated that Mr. Fursman has <br />received a call from Elmer Anderson and that Mr. Anderson indicated <br />that he is requesting the City to pay him $300,000 for his property and <br />further to give him the Jenne site. Mr. Klaers indicated that the City <br />may be able to capture money through a TIF project. Mike Mulrooney, <br />Economic Development Consultant, stated that it would be best if Mr. <br />
