The flat -roofed building has a canted corner still <br />crowned by a parapet inscribed with Houlton, for W.H. Houlton, the original owner. <br />The rectangular windows have prominent brick voussoirs and there are four courses of <br />brick banding under the deep wood cornice. Each window has a rusticated stone sill. <br />The 1955 remodeling included the installation of a reddish brown polished granite <br />facing on the entire first floor, with large display windows replacing the originals. The <br />upper story windows were not altered, but the tripartite corner window was removed. <br />Extensive remodeling was also completed on the interior. <br />
