October 1: <br />Bills submitted for tree removal and grading at the Village Hall <br />Constract with Cavanaugh Bros. Signed and excavation had begun <br />October 9: <br />Consideration of bids for heating building. Caley (Harold) Hardware is awarded bid of $540 for <br />system of hot air heating. <br />November 4: <br />Approved purchase of cells for the jail. Double cell with two bunds in each cell for men, and <br />single cell with two bunks, approved for $708. <br />Approved purchase of vault door <br />Approved resolution recommended by The League of Minnesota Municipalities: <br />. That the Council of the Village of Elk river Minnesota approve legislation advocated by <br />the League of Minnesota Municipalities which would amend the present zoning law <br />applying to first class cities in order to permit all other cities and villages to pass zoning <br />ordinances. <br />That the Council of the Village of Elk river Minnesota approve legislation advocated by <br />the League of Minnesota Municipalities to permit all cities and villages to pass <br />ordinances creating planning commissions. <br />Bills paid: <br />Caley Hardware for Heating Plant at Village Hall for $546.02 <br />Elk River Lumber Company for well curbing and material at Village Hall for $70.40 <br />Approved tiling in vestibule in place of cement. Beck [Thomas E. Beck President of <br />Council) agreeing to have it done. <br />Approved painting of walls of engine room with two coats. Mr. Patenaude agreed to do it for <br />$25. <br />Approved plastering of jail at a cost of $60. <br />Clerk ordered to purchase new 5x& hydrant [for Village Hall?] <br />Agreed that council unite with commercial club in putting on a celebration of the completion of <br />the Village Hall. <br />
