SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL MONDAY, JUNE 27, 1994 Members Present: Chair Dave Anderson, Commissioners Dana Anderson, Olson, O'Brien, Daleiden, Lipetzky and Rolfe Anderson (7:45 p.m.) Members Absent: Commissioner St. Dennis Staff Present: Phil Hals, Street/Park Superintendent; Steve Ach, City Planner Others Present: Chris Kreger, Rick Foster and Marly Glines 1. Call Meetinq To Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Park and Recreation Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chair Anderson. 2. Consider 6/27/94 Aqenda The following items were added to the agenda: 3. Purchase of a boat dock for Lake Orono 4. Rotary sponsored circus in Lion's Park. COMMISSIONER O'BRIEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6/27/94 PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION AGENDA AS AMENDED. COMMISSIONER DALEIDEN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 3. Purchase of a boat dock for Lake Orono Phil Hals explained the damage to the current dock and the need for a new one. A brief discussion was held. COMMISSIONER O'BRIEN MOVED TO RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A 40' ROLL-IN, ALL ALUMINUM, BOAT DOCK FOR LAKE ORONO TO REPLACE THE FLOATING DOCK NOW IN PLACE. FURTHER, THAT THE DOCK BE FIVE FEET WIDE RATHER THAN FOUR FEET WIDE IF A FIVE FOOT WIDTH IS AVAILABLE. COMMISSIONER OLSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. Commissioner Rolfe Anderson arrived at this time. 4. Rotary SDonsored circus in Lion's Park Phil Hals stated that he had been approached by the local Rotary Club requesting that they be allowed to use Lion's Park for a two day circus performance on the evening of July 25th and all day on July 26th. The Rotarians and circus employees will handle all set up and clean up needs.
