<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PARK AND RECREATION <br />COMMISSION <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br />MONDAY, JUNE 27, 1994 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chair Dave Anderson, Commissioners Dana Anderson, Olson, <br />O'Brien, Daleiden, Lipetzky and Rolfe Anderson (7:45 p.m.) <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner St. Dennis <br /> <br />Staff Present: Phil Hals, Street/Park Superintendent; Steve Ach, City Planner <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />Chris Kreger, Rick Foster and Marly Glines <br /> <br />1. Call Meetinq To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Park and <br />Recreation Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chair Anderson. <br /> <br />2. Consider 6/27/94 Aqenda <br /> <br />The following items were added to the agenda: <br /> <br />3. Purchase of a boat dock for Lake Orono <br />4. Rotary sponsored circus in Lion's Park. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER O'BRIEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6/27/94 PARK AND RECREATION <br />COMMISSION AGENDA AS AMENDED. COMMISSIONER DALEIDEN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />3. Purchase of a boat dock for Lake Orono <br /> <br />Phil Hals explained the damage to the current dock and the need for a new one. <br />A brief discussion was held. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER O'BRIEN MOVED TO RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A 40' ROLL-IN, ALL ALUMINUM, BOAT DOCK FOR LAKE <br />ORONO TO REPLACE THE FLOATING DOCK NOW IN PLACE. FURTHER, THAT THE <br />DOCK BE FIVE FEET WIDE RATHER THAN FOUR FEET WIDE IF A FIVE FOOT WIDTH IS <br />AVAILABLE. COMMISSIONER OLSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe Anderson arrived at this time. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Rotary SDonsored circus in Lion's Park <br /> <br />Phil Hals stated that he had been approached by the local Rotary Club <br />requesting that they be allowed to use Lion's Park for a two day circus <br />performance on the evening of July 25th and all day on July 26th. The Rotarians <br />and circus employees will handle all set up and clean up needs. <br />
