HIGHWAY 10 CORRIDOR STUDY - FINAL REPORT
South Segment Alternotive Evaluation
A preliminary evaluation of the four south segment grade -separated location alternatives was
completed. Like the long-term vision alternative evaluation, criteria were selected based on the
existing conditions analysis and centered around safety, mobility and convenient access being high
priorities for the corridor. Land use, bike and pedestrian accommodations, project costs and right-of-
way impacts were also used in the evaluation process.
Each alternative was assigned a rating relative to its ability to meet the criteria. The rating system
was as follows:
Good; meets criteria well
Moderate; no distinguishing characteristics
Poor; fails to meet criteria
The results of the preliminary evaluation (see Tab/e10) show that
The Kelly farm Road Area location (which is Alternative 1) meets many of the evaluation
criteria but does not align with the City's future planning vision for the area and it does not
support existing land use.
The alternatives developed at both Jarvis Street and Cleveland Street and at Alpine Drive
have more impacts to the adjacent businesses and properties which is not as desirable. The
Alpine Drive location also does not align with the city's future planning vision for the area.
The Adams Street alternative rises above the rest as the business and property impacts are
less at this location and it better aligns with the city's future planning vision for the area. The
Adams Street location is also centrally located for the existing businesses within the area.
a GHH'4Y
`o
RRIOOR
