<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br />July 28, 1987 <br /> <br />Stephen Rohlf explained that Lots 1 and 2 of Block 2 had been combined to <br />accommodate the loading dock. The property has since changed hands and <br />Elk River Associated Investors would like the option of having two lots <br />rather than one. The loading dock would be 16" from the property line <br />actually creating a 9 ft. encroachment. <br /> <br />Dick Congo11 was present to represent the Elk River Associated Investors. <br />Gongo11 explained some history on the situation and the intentions which <br />fell through. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson opened the public hearing. There being no comments, <br />Chairman Wilson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER FUCHS MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />VARIANCE REQUEST BY ELK RIVER ASSOCIATED INVESTORS FOR A 10' FOOT <br />ENCROACHMENT ON THE 25' REQUIRED SETBACK IN AN I-l/LIGHT INDUSTRIAL ZONE <br />TO ACCOMMODATE A LOADING DOCK. COMMISSIONER TEMPLE SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION PASSED 6-0. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />Variance Request by Peter See1en/Pub1ic Hearing <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf explained that Peter See1en of 19459 Tyler Street is <br />requesting an approximately 150 ft. encroachment on the 200 ft. minimum <br />frontage requirement in an A-l/Agricu1tura1 District. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson opened the public hearing. There being no comments, <br />Chairman Wilson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER KIMBALL MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF <br />THE VARIANCE REQUEST BY PETER SEELEN FOR AN APPROXIMATELY 150 FT. <br />ENCROACHMENT ON THE 200 FT. MINIMUM FRONTAGE REQUIRED IN AN A- <br />l/AGRICULTURAL ZONED DISTRICT. COMMISSIONER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 6-0. <br /> <br />9, Variance Request by Merrill Kampa/Public Hearing <br /> <br />Merrill Kampa of 13822 211th Avenue NW was present to request a 99 ft. <br />encroachment on the 200 ft. frontage requirement in an A-1/Agricu1tura1 <br />zoned district to accommodate an additional building site on property <br />legally described as the SW-1/4 of the NE 1/4 in Section 18, Township 33, <br />Range 26. Sherburne County. Minnesota. Steve Rohlf explained that this <br />issue arose when 10 acres was sold and not recorded. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding proposed (future) subdivisions. Steve <br />Rohlf explained the un1ik1iness unless City streets were extended in the <br />area. <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf mentioned that he received a call from Bert Atkenson of the <br />St. Louis Gun Club stating that he had no problems with the request. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson opened the public hearing. <br />
