He questioned <br />what kind of message would be sent if it was sent on a piece by piece <br />basis. THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION STRONGLY RECOMMENDS TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT THE REMAINDER OF <br />THE PROPERTY ON EAST MAIN STREET FROM THE KRETSCH PROPERTY TO THE CORNER <br />OF HOWARD JOHNSON'S PROPERTY BE REZONED TO C-2/GENERAL COMMERCIAL. <br />COMMISSIONER MORTON ALSO RECOMMENDED THAT THE PROPERTY NORTH OF EAST MAIN <br />STREET BE CONSIDERED FOR REZONING TO EITHER C-2/GENERAL COMMERCIAL OR C- <br />4/SERVICE COMMERCIAL. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 5 TO 1. <br />COMMISSIONER KIMBALL VOTED AGAINST THE MOTION. <br /> <br />6. Variance Request by Craig Willey/P.H. <br /> <br />Craig Willey of Sherburne Title Company. located at 400 Jackson Avenue. <br />was present to request a 10 foot encroachment on the 10 foot setback <br />required from a commercial parking lot to adjacent road right-of-way and <br />also abutting residential property on Lots 1 and 2. Block 15. Village of <br />Elk River Addition. <br /> <br />Mr. Willey is proposing an office building on the property with a parking <br />lot of seven stalls. He would be changing the property lines from North- <br />South to East-West creating an administrative subdivision. <br />
