He further stated he felt <br />the request for variance would be similar to New Creation Homes request <br />and. therefore. he would soon be before the Planning Commission with such <br />a request. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER BARRETT MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL ~PROVAL OJ' <br />THE 15 FOOT VARIANCE TO THE FRONT YARD SETBACK REQUESTED BY NEW CREATION <br />HOMES FOR LOT 37. BLOCK 1. GREENHEAD3RD ADDITION. COMMISSIONER MORTON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 5--0. . <br /> <br />10. Consider Variance Request by Standard Lumber/Public Hearing <br /> <br />The Building and Zoning Administrator noted that Standard Lumber Company <br />located at 728 Railroad Drive. is requsting a 48 foot variance to the <br />required 50 foot front yard setback to add an addition to their office. <br /> <br />Mr. Weiss of Standard Lumber explained to the Planning Commission that he <br />is proposing to add a 30 by 36 foot addition for an office and display <br />area. He further stated he would be adding a new front on the existing <br />building and stated these changes will be an improvement to the <br />appearance of the neighborhood. He further stated that the building at <br />the present time already encroaches within 3 feet of the lot line. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson opened the <br />against the variance request. <br /> <br />public hearing. Variance Request by Douglas & Sharon Waletzko/Public Hearing <br /> <br />The Building and Zoning Administrator noted that Mr. & Mrs. Waletzko are <br />requesting a .4 acre variance on the 2.5 acre required lot size in a R-la <br />zone. <br /> <br />Mrs. Waletzko stated they own 4.6 acres of land with their existing home <br />on this land. She noted that they would like to split their land and <br />sell their home and also build another home on 2.5 acres of land. She <br />also indicated they have been paying taxes on 5.1 acres of land. <br />
