UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter – Conservation & Key Accounts Manager <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />March 8, 2022 6.1e <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> In the last 30 days, the level two charger located downtown had 14 sessions and <br />provided customers with 318 kWh. The DC fast charger at the Coborn’s fuel station had <br />19sessions and provided251kWh. The charger in the ERMU/City Hall parking lot is able <br />tocharge vehicles but is currently experiencing data communication issues. Between <br />the downtown and Coborn’s chargers there was a total of 33 charging sessions and 569 <br />kWh of green energy provided over the last 30 days. <br /> <br /> Minnesota Municipal Power Agency(MMPA)has been working with the Enel JuiceBox <br />charger vendor to resolve the availability issues for the EV charger in Otsego. They have <br />determined that the credit card reader does not function properly in extreme winter <br />weather. MMPA projects that the issues will be resolved by March 4. <br /> <br /> Customer-owned solar installations have seen a sharp increase in recent months. There <br />are 15 systems that will be installed in the coming weeks with at least 3 more expected. <br /> <br /> The Energy City Commission (ECC) met on February 16 to begin a process to update the <br />vision and mission for the ECC. The Commission decided to have a subgroup create a <br />draft of the mission and vision and bring it back for discussion at the next meeting. The <br />ECC will also select 2 or 3 strategic objectives to focus on for the near term. The ECC will <br />then build a plan and financial considerations to bring back to the City Council for <br />discussion. <br /> <br /> Staff attended the American Public Power Association’s Legislative Conference, <br />February 27 through March 3. A verbal update will be provided at the March <br />commission meeting. <br /> <br /> There are ongoing discussions about the future of the landfill-gas-to-energy plant that is <br />scheduled to conclude operations on October 31, 2022. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />214 <br />
