<br />e. <br /> <br />Seasonal Employee - An employee who works in an <br />position that is seasonal in nature. The employee <br />may work more than one hundred twenty (120) days in <br />any consecutive twelve (12) month period. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />f. Temporary Employee - An employee who works less than <br />12.0 days in any consecutive twelve month period. <br /> <br />218.04 - City Service. <br /> <br />1. General Appointment Procedure. As a matter of City <br />policy, the City Council shall appoint the person it deems best <br />qualified to perform the duties of the particular position and in <br />accordance with any applicable state or federal law. When required <br />by law, the City Council, or the City Administrator, <br />appropriateness for a particular position may be ascertained by <br />written, oral, or other examinations designed to evaluate the <br />ability of the candidate to perform the duties of the position to <br />which he/she has applied. <br /> <br />a. Selection Process - The employee selection process <br />may include the following as deemed appropriate by <br />City Councilor the City Administrator: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(i) Advertisements - If required by law, the <br />City Administrator, or his/her assign, <br />shall advertise when a position with the <br />City becomes available. Advertisements <br />shall be made in such manner as the City <br />Administrator, or his/her assign, deems <br />appropriate for the particular position. <br /> <br />(ii) Applications, Resumes - Applications are <br />required and resumes may be requested of <br />job applicants. <br /> <br />(iii) Interviews - Qualified candidates may be <br />selected for personal screening <br />interviews. <br /> <br />(iv) Examinations - As set forth above, the <br />suitability of an individual for a <br />particular position may be determined by <br />written, oral, or other type of <br />examination. When given, such <br />examinations shall be conducted in <br />compliance with applicable state or <br />federal law. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />Hiring Authority - The City Council shall make the <br />final hiring decision. The City Council shall <br />appoint the person it deems best qualified to perform <br />the duties of the available position and may consider <br />recommendations by the City Administrator. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4. <br />
