<br />b. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Use of Sick Time - Eligible employees may use sick <br />time for the following reasons: <br /> <br />(i) Personal illness or injury or in order to <br />attend medical appointments (i.e., doctors, <br />dentists); <br /> <br />(ii) To care for sick dependants; <br /> <br />(iii) To take dependants to medical appointments <br />(i.e., doctor, dentist); and <br /> <br />(iv) Up to 5 days in any calendar month to care <br />for seriously ill family members who may not <br />live with the employee. For purposes of this <br />provision, "seriously ill" shall be <br />determined in the sole discretion of the City <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />c. Sick Time Administration - The following procedures <br />shall be followed in administering sick time for <br />Regular Full-time and Part-time Employees: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(i) Regular Full-time Employees and Regular <br />Full-time Employees Completing an <br />Orientation Period shall accumulate sick <br />time at a rate of one (1) working day for <br />each calendar month of emploYment. <br />Regular Part-time Employees and Regular <br />Part-time Employees Completing an <br />Orientation Period shall be granted sick <br />time on a pro rata basis according to <br />hours worked per month. <br /> <br />(ii) There shall be no maximum limit on the <br />amount of sick time that can be <br />accumulated by Full-time or Part-time <br />Employees. <br /> <br />(iii) Employees are required to notify their <br />immediate supervisor at least thirty (30) <br />minutes prior to the start of their <br />regular working hours if they intend to <br />be absent from work. If an emergency <br />prevents the employee from notifying <br />his/her supervisor at such time, the <br />employee is expected to call as soon as <br />possible during the work day. Employees <br />are also required to keep their <br />supervisors informed of their condition <br />and anticipated return to work. <br /> <br />(iv) Claiming sick time when physically fit to <br />work or for reasons other than those <br /> <br />12. <br />
