<br />. <br /> <br />(iv) <br /> <br />(v) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Period, employees shall be prohibited <br />from using vacation time until after <br />successful completion of their initial <br />Orientation Period unless otherwise <br />authorized by the City Administrator. <br /> <br />An employee in good standing who resigns <br />from the City after giving proper notice <br />of such resignation shall be compensated <br />for earned but unused vacation time as of <br />the date of separation. Proper notice <br />shall mean written notice at least ten <br />(10) working days in advance of the <br />anticipated resignation date for all <br />personnel except department heads. <br />Department heads shall be required to <br />give written notice at least twenty (20) <br />working days in advance of the <br />anticipated resignation date in order to <br />receive compensation for earned but <br />unused vacation time. <br /> <br />Vacation time is to be granted to <br />employees for a period of rest and <br />recreation. Employees shall not be <br />permitted to waive vacation time for any <br />reason, including receiving double pay. <br /> <br />(vi) Any employee taking more than two (2) <br />consecutive weeks of vacation, or a <br />combination of vacation and comp time, <br />must obtain prior approval from the City <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />5. Sick Time. The City shall provide paid sick time to <br />eligible employees who need to be absent from work for those <br />reasons set forth below in Subdivision b). However, employees are <br />responsible for their attendance and are expected to meet work <br />obligations and not abuse this benefit in any way. Regular <br />attendance is a minimum requirement of satisfactory job <br />performance. Employees shall only use sick time pursuant to the <br />terms of this provision. Sick time cannot be used in a <br />discretionary manner by employees. <br /> <br />Eligibility - Paid sick time shall be granted to all <br />Regular Full-time Employees and Regular Full-time <br />Employees Completing an Orientation Period. Paid <br />sick time shall also be granted on a pro rata basis <br />according to hours worked per month to all Regular <br />Part-time Employees who work at least 1040 hours per <br />year. Paid sick time is not available for <br />Seasonable, Temporary and Part-time Employees who <br />work less than 1040 hours per year. <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />11. <br />
