Where this Ordinance imposes a greater restriction upon <br />the land than is imposed or required by such existing provisions, <br />this Ordinance shall control. <br /> <br />1008 06 - RULES AND DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />1. Rules. <br /> <br />A. Words used in the present tense include the past and <br />future tense; the singular number includes the plural <br />and the plural includes the singular; the work "shall" <br />is mandatory, and the words "should" or "may" are <br />permissive. <br /> <br />B. In the event of conflicting prov~s~ons in the text of <br />this Ordinance, the more restrictive shall apply. <br /> <br />2. Definitions. Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, <br />the words, combination of words, terms and phrases as used in <br />this Ordinance shall have the meanings set forth in the <br />following paragraphs: <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATIVE SUBDIVISION: A subdivision involving the creation <br />of four (4) or fewer tracts or lots. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />BLOCK~ The enclosed area within the perimeter of roads, property <br />lines or boundaries of the subdivision. <br /> <br />BOULEVARD: The portion of the street right-of-way between the <br />curb line and the property line. <br /> <br />CENTRAL SEWAGE SYSTEM: The existing City Sanitary System, as <br />expanded, including collection and treatment facilities <br />established by the subdivider to serve the subdivision. <br /> <br />COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT PLAN: The City of Elk River Growth <br />Management Plan as amended by the City, including a compilation of <br />policy statements, goals, standards and maps indicating the <br />general locations recommended for various functional classes of <br />land use, places and structures, and for the general physical <br />development of the City. It shall have the same meaning as " <br />comprehensive municipal plan" in the Law. <br /> <br />CONTOUR MAP: A map on which irregularities of land surface are <br />shown by lines connecting points of equal elevation.
