Retaliation against any employee for making a complaint <br />under this policy or assisting with investigations of complaints made under this policy is also strictly <br />prohibited. <br />Any person who feels that s/he has been discriminated against should contact the city administrator or <br />Human Resources. <br />Employment Status Definitions <br />Full -Time - A regular work schedule consisting of 2,080 hours per year. <br />Part -Time - A regular work schedule of less than 2,080 hours per year, generally over the 12 months. <br />Orientation Period - First six months of initial employment, following a promotion, reassignment or <br />transfer. <br />Probationary Period —Period of time as defined in a union contract. For paid on -call firefighters, the <br />probationary period is the first twelve (12) months of initial employment. <br />Re ar - An employee who has completed his or her Orientation or Probationary Period and works a set <br />schedule. <br />Seasonal - A position assigned to work part of the year, typically not for more than one hundred twenty <br />(120) days in any consecutive 12-month period. <br />Temporary - A part- or full-time position scheduled to work with a defined start and termination <br />date or duration of a special project. The position generally does not qualify for benefits of serrieffty <br />erech . <br />Elected or Appointed Official - A person elected as mMayor or Ecouncilmember or a person appointed <br />by the mMayor and Ecouncil to serve on a city commission or board. <br />2 <br />
