COMMISSIONPOLICY <br />Section:Category: <br />GovernanceDelegation to Management Policies <br />Policy Reference:Policy Title: <br />G.4e2ElectricServices <br />PURPOSE: <br />With this policy, the Commission sets forth its expectations for the General Manager concerning <br />the provisions ofelectric serviceswithpractical safeguarding of persons, buildings and their <br />contents from hazards arising from the use of electricity for light, heat, power, radio and <br />television signaling, and other safeguards to life and property. <br />POLICY: <br />Consistentwith the Core Customer Services Policy, the ERMU Commission expects the <br />General Manager to ensure that customers receive safe, reliable, cost effective and quality <br />long term electric utility servicethat directly poseand mission as <br />stated in the Organizational Core PurposePolicyand Mission StatementPolicy. <br />The ERMU Commission expects the General Manager toestablishprocesses,procedures, and <br />management policywhich clearly define theterms for providing electric service. <br />Consistent with this general statement, the General Manager shall: <br />1.Establish policy and procedures forthe provisions ofelectric serviceswhichare compliant <br />with applicable rules, regulations, standards, code,and lawincluding but not limited to the <br />following: <br />a.ERMU shall operateunder the NationalElectricalSafety Code(NESC). <br />b.All connected electric loads shallbe required for their installation to comply withthe <br />National ElectricalCode(NEC). <br />2.Establish metering policy and procedureswhichaddress, but are not limitedtothe following: <br />a.Customers shall be furnishedoneservice entrance and one meter to measure energy <br />consumptionand demand,unless otherwise approved by the General Manager. <br />b.For residential customers, the meter shall be the point of sale (POS).All equipmentand <br />materials requiredfor meteringshall be owned and maintained by ERMU.
