ERMU CommissionPolicyG.4e1Customer Accounts <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />d.Establishapolicyfor the disconnection of service without notice for the following <br />circumstances: unauthorized useof service;tampering with utility equipmentor <br />metering;or conditions determinedto be hazardousto the customer, equipment, or to the <br />public. <br />e.Establishapolicy definingtheconditionsfor reconnection of service that include the <br />following:customers placed on the disconnection list must paydisconnection/reconnection <br />fee as identified in the Commission adopted Fee Schedule;customers who are in arrears <br />before disconnectionshall be required to post an additional depositconsistent with the <br />Deposit Policy;and all obligations must be made in full prior to reconnection.Payment of <br />all amounts required for reconnection must be made in the office or online. Only cash, <br />money order, or credit cards will be accepted. There will be no payments collected by field <br />staff. <br />f.Consistent with Minnesota Statutes Section 216B.097,regarding theCold Weather Rule, <br />developapolicy addressing non-disconnection for customers meeting the qualification <br />requirementsbetween October15 and April 15. <br />g.Consistent with Minnesota StatutesSection 216B.0975,regarding Disconnection During <br />Extreme Heat Conditions, developapolicy addressing non-disconnection for customers <br />meeting the qualification requirements. <br />4.Establish policy and procedures forcustomer account disputes: <br />a.Consistent with the Dispute Resolution Committee Charter Policy,provideanoptionfor <br />acustomer appeal process through the Dispute Resolution Committeefor customer issues <br />whereresolutionrequires action not authorized or delegated to management. <br />POLICY HISTORY: <br />ProposedMay 12,2020 <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 3of3 <br />110 <br />
