may be used for water service pipe only up to the water meter. Particular care shall be taken to avoid <br /> sharp edges in contact with the pipe and provide for expansion and contraction. All service connections <br /> larger than 2" (two inches)are required to be pressure tested at 150 lbs. (one hundred fifty pounds) psi <br /> for 1(one) hour with no loss of pressure. AWWA approved Polyethylene(PE)—B72.1—D2239 material is <br /> required for water services. All fire protection lines shall have detector check valves. <br /> e) An angle meter valve is required for all 2" (two inch)and smaller services. Valves must be manufactured <br /> in compliance with: ANSI/AWWA C800, brass components conform to ASTM B62 & ASTM B584, UNS <br /> C83600-85-5-5-5, PTFE coated brass ball, rated for 300 PSIG water pressure, blow out proof EPDM port <br /> seals,End piece joint sealed with an EPDM o-ring and thread locker. <br /> f) Where pressure reducers are required,the pressure reducer(supplied by plumber)will be located on the <br /> house side of the meter and before the second valve and meters will be marked with pressure reducer <br /> notation. <br /> g) Connection, access, and meter fees must be paid and a copy of the plumbing permit supplied, before <br /> delivery of the water meter will be made. The current WAC fee per ERMU fee schedule, plus tax,will be <br /> paid at this time upon determination of total WAC units which is a function of building occupancy and is <br /> determined by the City Building Official. <br /> h) Plumber to install meter and call ERMU for meter to be sealed at least 24 hours in advance. <br /> i) The ERT will be installed by the water utility if necessary when the plumber has completed the setting of <br /> the water meter. Notification by the plumber that the water meter has been set and is ready for the ERT, <br /> shall be done at least 24 hours prior to final plumbing inspection by the City Building Inspection <br /> Department. No Certificate of Occupancy (C.O.) will be issued until the ERT has been installed by ERMU <br /> and the meter has been sealed. <br /> j) Any damage to the ERT after it has been installed by ERMU will be the responsibility of the builder or <br /> property owner. <br /> 148 <br />
