10/12/15 <br /> Elk River , <br /> Municipal Utilities SERVICE REQUIREMENTS <br /> 13069 Orono Parkway RESIDENTIAL <br /> PO Box 430 HOME BUILDER/OWNER <br /> Elk River,MN 55330 <br /> Phone: 763.441.2020 <br /> 1) ELECTRIC <br /> a) Home Builder/Owner shall complete the Residential Electric Service Agreement. <br /> b) Prepay connection fee per ERMU fee schedule, plus tax,which includes cost of furnishing and installing <br /> up to 200' of electric service to the house by Elk River Municipal Utilities (ERMU). Wire footages over <br /> 200'will be assessed an additional charge per fee schedule. Service entrance shall be located as one of <br /> the following: <br /> • By-Pass meter socket located within 10 feet of the closest corner of building from point of electric <br /> service at a point 4%2 feet above grade. ERMU furnishes, installs,and maintains secondary conductor <br /> to meter socket. <br /> • At service pedestal on meter post. Owner furnishes, installs, and maintains secondary conductor <br /> from service pedestal to home. <br /> c) ERMU will require before final hook-up, the inspection sheet from a licensed electrician or the State <br /> Electrical Inspector. <br /> d) Between November 1st and April 15th,the Utilities will provide frost trenching for an additional charge per <br /> fee schedule. Frost trenching must be done by ERMU. Third party contracting is not permitted. <br /> 2) WATER <br /> a) All street disruption and water access fees must be paid before connecting to the City Water System. <br /> b) All water service curb stops that are required to be located must be called in to ERMU at least 24 hours <br /> prior to digging(except emergencies), rush jobs do not constitute an emergency. <br /> c) All water connections must be inspected by the City Building Inspection department, or their designated <br /> inspector prior to back filling of water service trench. Slope of trench must be in accordance with OSHA <br /> rules. If this is not possible, a trench box must be installed for inspections. A 24 hour advance notice is <br /> required. <br /> d) All pipe used in a water service shall be type K - 1" (one inch) copper pipe, up to the curb stop, larger <br /> than 2" shall be ductile iron pipe up to the curb stop.
