G. Bituminous Paving Materials <br /> 1. MnDOT 2360, Bituminous Quality Assurance, shall apply to the construction of plant-mixed bituminous <br /> surfacing,except as modified herein. <br /> (a) MnDOT 02360.6134: The maximum payment factor for density is 100 percent. <br /> (b) MnDOT 02360.7C(Pavement Smoothness Specification—IRI (International Roughness Index) is <br /> hereby DELETED. <br /> PART 2-- PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 MATERIALS <br /> A. Subgrade Preparation <br /> 1. No exception to the referenced specification is made. <br /> B. Aggregate Base Course <br /> 1. The material to be used shall conform to the requirements for Aggregate Base,Class 5. <br /> C. Bituminous Tack Coat <br /> 1. The bituminous material for tack coat shall be CSS-1H. <br /> D. Bituminous Paving Materials <br /> 1. Bituminous material and aggregates shall conform to the typical sections shown in the plans. <br /> PART 3-- EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Unless otherwise shown on the typical sections in the plans,the depth and class of aggregate base and <br /> bituminous surface to be constructed shall be: <br /> 1. Bituminous Roadway(Patch) <br /> (a) 2.0-inches Bituminous Wearing Course <br /> (b) 2.0-inches Bituminous Non-Wearing Course <br /> (c) 2.0-inches Bituminous Non-Wearing Course <br /> (d) 8.0-inches Aggregate Base Class 5 <br /> 2. Bituminous Driveway(Patch) <br /> (a) 1.5-inches Bituminous Wearing Course <br /> (b) 2.0-inches Bituminous Non-Wearing Course <br /> (c) 8.0-inches Aggregate Base,Class 5 <br /> B. The subgrade,aggregate and bituminous base courses of patches whose smallest dimension is less than the <br /> width of the compaction equipment shall be hand tamped. <br /> C. The subgrade shall be compacted using Quality Compaction Method. <br /> D. When the Contractor believes subgrade preparation is complete, he shall notify the Engineer for a final <br /> examination. If the Engineer requests it,the subgrade shall be test rolled with a fully loaded tandem truck <br /> to verify subgrade stability. <br /> E.
