Obtaining suitable material from areas with no proposed structural improvements to provide enough <br /> suitable material for embankments being constructed under proposed structural improvements, <br /> include in the price bid for common excavation. <br /> 6. Restoring the borrow site by grading the area to drain properly to slopes not-to-exceed 6:1 and by <br /> restoring the topsoil to a minimum thickness of 6 inches, include in the contract unit price for common <br /> borrow. <br /> 7. Subgrade excavation,furnishing stabilizing aggregate,geotextile fabric installation,compaction, <br /> regrading and/or other efforts necessary to repair the subgrade after satisfying the roll test and failing <br /> to protect the integrity of the subgrade, include in the price bid for common excavation. <br /> 8. MnDOT 2105 shall apply to the excavation and embankment for the site improvements,except as modified <br /> herein. <br /> B. MnDOT 2574 shall apply to the excavation and embankment for the site improvements,except as modified <br /> herein. <br /> C. Unless noted otherwise,the provisions in this section are in addition to the referenced specification. <br /> PART 2-- PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 MATERIALS <br /> A. All excess excavated material,with the exception of topsoil shall become the property of the Contractor <br /> and shall be removed from the site and disposed of at a site secured by the Contractor. <br /> B. Stabilizing aggregates for use in backfilling subgrade excavations shall be material generally produced and <br /> referred to as"1%-inch dust free aggregate",4.0 to 6.0-inch rubble aggregate"or other coarse aggregate <br /> found to be in general compliance by the Engineer. Aggregate base may also be used at the direction of the <br /> Engineer. <br /> PART 3-- EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 GENERAL <br /> A. Excavated topsoil and suitable material for reuse in the project shall be segregated and stockpiled at a site <br /> selected by the Contractor. <br /> B. Frozen material will not be allowed for roadway or building pad construction.
