SECTION 02230-CLEARING AND GRUBBING <br /> PART 1-- GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. This section covers the furnishing of all labor, materials,tools,equipment and performances of all work and <br /> services necessary or incidental to clearing and grubbing trees,stumps and brush as indicated on the <br /> drawings or as specified herein. <br /> 1.2 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> A. Measurement and compensation for the following items shall be paid according to the referenced <br /> specification or as modified below: <br /> 1. No exception to the referenced specification is made. <br /> B. The furnishing and installing of specific items and/or the performance of work under certain circumstances <br /> shall not be individually paid in the absence of a specific bid item for the work. The costs shall be included <br /> in the unit price bid for clearing and grubbing.Such items of work include but are not limited to: <br /> 1. Permits and fees for the disposal of materials. <br /> 2. Protecting existing improvements from damage. <br /> 1.3 SPECIFICATION REFERENCES <br /> A. Mn DOT 2101 shall apply to clearing and removing trees,stumps and brush,except as modified herein. <br /> B. Unless noted otherwise,the provisions in this section are in addition to the referenced specification. <br /> PART 2-- PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 NO EXCEPTION TO THE REFERENCED SPECIFICATION IS MADE. <br /> PART 3-- EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. No clearing and grubbing shall commence until the Engineer has marked trees and/or area to be removed. <br /> B. All trees,stumps, brush,seed,grass, roots or other undesirable material within the construction limits shall <br /> be disposed of by the Contractor. <br /> C. Disposal methods shall be approved by the Engineer and shall meet all Local,State and Federal regulations. <br /> D.
