Elk River Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: FROM: ERMU Commission Mark Fuchs—Electric Superintendent MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: May 14, 2019 6.1c SUBJECT: Staff Update ACTION REQUESTED: None DISCUSSION: • Had 10 new house services. • Continue collecting data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. • Finished tree trimming for the year. We will begin again in the winter. • Continued rebuilding the three phase overhead line on Jarvis Street between 165th Avenue and Highway 10. • Deenergized one side of Monroe Street so they could widen the road for Monroe Estates residential housing development off of 2215t Avenue. There will be a total of 13 lots in this development. • Began installation of the infrastructure required for the acquisition of Area 7. We will be acquiring Area 7 and 8 in September. • Switched out overhead single phase primary wire to underground secondary wire in some of the areas requiring more frequent tree trimming. • We are going through the new GIS map book and verifying that it matches what is in the field. As part of this process the equipment is inspected and repairs are made as needed. • Diversified Inspections performed our annual inspections on the bucket and digger trucks. The inspections include: Visual/Operational, Magnetic Particle, Dielectric, Load and Acoustic Emission Testing. • We received our John Deere multi-purpose utility vehicle and the Vemeer Vac-Tron, which uses high pressure water and vacuum to excavate soil. Both of these were budgeted items. • Darren Weber,Jared Rolstad, and Jake Koehler assisted Fairmont with mutual aid April 12-15 after a storm damaged electric equipment, and caused outages. • On May 13 we will be interviewing for the open lineworker position.
