EligibleRecipients <br />AneligibleIRTSrecipientmustmeetthefollowing: <br />Be18years old orolder <br />BeeligibleforMA <br />Meet theIRTS admissioncriteria <br />Individuals whoare 17yearsoldandtransitioning to adultmental healthservicesmaybe considered <br />for IRTSiftheservice isdetermined tobestmeettheirneeds. IRTS providersmustsecure a <br />licensingvariance inthissituation. <br />Recipients mayreceiveIRTSinsteadofhospitalization, ifappropriate. <br />IRTSAdmissionCriteria <br />AdmitarecipienttoIRTSwhenamentalhealth professional determines therecipientmeets the <br />following: <br />Hasa primarydiagnosisofmental illness asdetermined byadiagnostic assessment <br />Hasa completed functionalassessmentusingthedomainsspecifiedinstatute andhavethree <br />ormoreareasofsignificant impairment in functioning <br />Hasa completed LOCUSassessment where aLevel5 isindicated <br />Isreasonablyexpected tocommenceor resumeillnessmanagementand recoveryskillsor <br />strategies atthislevelofservice <br />Needsa 24-hoursupervised, monitored andfocused treatment approach toimprove <br />functioningandavoidrelapse thatwouldrequireahigherleveloftreatment <br />Isnotresponsive toan adequatetrialofactive treatment atalessintensive levelofcare <br />Isatriskofsignificant functionaldeterioration ifIRTSare notreceived <br />Hasone ormoreofthefollowing: <br />Historyoftwoormoreinpatient hospitalizations inthepast year <br />Significant independentlivinginstability <br />Homelessness <br />Frequent useofmentalhealthandrelatedservices yieldingpooroutcomesinoutpatient or <br />communitysupport treatment <br />Theprofessionalmay consultwith therecipient’s: <br />Mentalhealthcasemanager <br />Countyadvocate <br />Spouse, familymemberorsignificant other (withrecipient’s consent) <br />IRTSContinuingStay Criteria <br />Continuethe recipient’sstayinIRTSwhenamentalhealthprofessional determinesthe recipient <br />meets allofthefollowing criteria: <br />The recipient’s mental healthneeds cannotbemetbyother lessintensive community-based <br />services
