Park Dedication/Trail Fees <br /> <br />The Commissioners discussed their previous recommendation for park <br />dedication and trail fees which was $1,100 per unit for residential, $3,000 <br />per acre for commercial and a $200 per unit trail fee. Survey information <br />regarding park dedication and trail fees charged in other cities was <br />reviewed. A per acre fee vs. a percentage of the market value for <br />commercial was also discussed. Steve Wensman indicated that the St. <br />Cloud study of park dedication being conducted by SDU will not be <br />available until April or May. He suggested that the Commission could go <br />ahead with the recommendation for 1999, and information from the st. <br />Cloud study could be used to aid in making a recommendation for 2000. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Commissioner Reitsma indicated he felt it would be appropriate to <br />charge a park dedication fee for industrial property, similar to other cities <br />which were surveyed. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER REITSMA MOVED TO RECOMMEND A PARK DEDICATION FEE <br />BE ESTABLISHED FOR INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY AT $2,000 PER ACRE. <br />COMMISSIONER KUESTER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7- <br />O. <br /> <br />Chair Huberty indicated she will contact the City Administrator, Pat Klaers, <br />to have the park dedication/trail fees issue placed on the next available <br />City Council agenda. <br /> <br />6.d. 1/27/99 East Hiahway 169 Area Meetina Summary <br /> <br />The Commissioners requested that the minutes and summary from the <br />January 27th special meeting be distributed to the City Council. <br /> <br />6.e. Nord Property Proposal <br /> <br />steve Wensman reviewed a concept proposed by Windsor Development <br />for the Nord property which is located north of Meadowvale Heights Park. <br />He noted that the area is approximately 70 acres and will likely include 87 <br />single family homes. Steve stated the developer was receptive to the <br />Meadowvale Heights park concept that includes extending Meadowvale <br />Heights Park with a trail and park access around the wetland and <br />includes parking to the north.
