• • To express individuality, a building Unit Width shall be between 20-25 feet in width to <br /> reinforce pedestrian scale <br /> • A Stringcourse shall be provided separating the Storefront and the Upper Façade <br /> Storefront <br /> • Shall be predominantly glass, 75%is typical <br /> • Recessed entrances are encouraged <br /> • Maintain a regular pattern or rhythm with other facades along the street <br /> • Storefront treatments shall not extend across multiple Units in attempts to unify them into a <br /> single unit <br /> • Masonry columns,piers and/or pilasters shall match the material used on the Upper Facade <br /> to help define the storefront patterns or rhythm <br /> • Entrance features shall not extend above the bottom of the Stringcourse line <br /> Kickplates <br /> • Material shall be compatible with main building material <br /> • Concrete Masonry Units shall have a dimensional characteristic that of brick <br /> • Color shall be fairly neutral and blend with major building materials <br /> • Shall be 16-18 inches in height <br /> Display Area <br /> • Sills shall be elevated above the sidewalk 16-18 inches <br /> • Large expanses of glass, 75% is typical <br /> • • Clear glass only <br /> • Wood and/or metal framing is allowed and shall be painted a color to coordinate with the <br /> building's overall color scheme <br /> • Internal mullions in display windows are not recommended <br /> Transoms <br /> • Keep transom design simple <br /> • Glass block and Stained Glass transoms are allowed <br /> • Stained glass transoms are allowed <br /> • Incorporation of signage into the transom area is a desirable treatment <br /> • Transoms can be illuminated from the inside <br /> • Opaque transoms shall not be allowed <br /> • If a glazed transom area is not desired,it shall be the same as the major building material <br /> Entrances <br /> • Entrance shall reflect the character and scale of space it accesses <br /> • Materials shall be of the same general material as the storefront display windows <br /> • Recess the entrance from the sidewalk,but keep the door parallel to the street and sidewalk <br /> • Entrance door shall be of simple design and have large open window <br /> • Solid doors will not be allowed <br /> • Residential type doors, including "cross buck" patterned doors and screens will not be <br /> allowed <br /> • <br />
