Beautification Committee Appointment <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN TOTH MOVED TO APPOINT MR. CARL NEVILS TO THE CITY BEAUTIFICATION <br />COMMITTEE. COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />9. Committee Recommendation for the Replacement of CSAH /142 Bridge <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle indicated that a committee of the whole Council had met to review <br />the alternates and recommendations from Toltz, King, Duvall, and Anderson regarding <br />the replacement of the CSAH /142 Bridge. Mayor Hinkle further indicated that the <br />committee's recommendations were to support the engineer's suggestions of the <br />replacement for the bridge to be in approximately the same location as it now <br />exists. <br /> <br />Councilman Toth indicated that he did not feel the recommendation of the engineers <br />improved the situation that now exists at Main Street and Highway /110. The City <br />Administrator indicated that the design recommended by the engineers would provide <br />for better stacking of cars with the S curve in Main Street and the intersection <br />to Highway 1110. <br /> <br />General discussion was carried on regarding better means to serve both the downtown <br />area and the PUD developments on Highway /1169. COUNCIL}urn DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE <br />THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE TO SUPPORT THE ENGINEER'S SUGGESTION <br />OF PROCEEDING TO DESIGN A REPLACEMENT FOR THE BRIDGE IN APPROXIMATELY THE SAME LO- <br />CATION AS IT NOW EXISTS. COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />10. Award of Sludge Collector Rehabilitation Bid <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the City had received and opened bids for <br />the rehabilitation of sludge collector at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The <br />City Administrator indicated that three bids for the sludge collector's rehabilitation <br />were received with the lowest bidder being Gridor Construction for the amount of <br />$19,200, and further indicated that the bid submitted by Gridor Construction was <br />a reasonable bid and recommended the awarding of the contract to Gridor Construction. <br />COUNCILMAN TOTH MOVED TO APPROVE THE AWARDING OF THE CONTRACT FOR THE REHABILITATION <br />OF THE SLUDGE COLLECTORS TO GRIDOR CONSTRUCTION. COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />10~. Resolution to Designate MSA Streets <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN TOTH MOVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 81-10, A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING <br />MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREETS. COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 4-0. <br />
