CHRIS <br /> KREGER OPPOSED. <br /> Rlc (Single Family Residential) <br /> Steve Ach provided an overview of areas of the city in Rlc zoning districts. <br /> Members of the Steering Committee discussed pros and cons of increasing the <br /> 10,000 square foot minimum lot size in the Rlc districts. <br /> MARLY GLINES MOVED THE STEERING COMMITTEE RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL CONSIDER INCREASING THE MINIMUM LOT SIZE IN CERTAIN AREAS OF <br /> R1C (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) ZONING DISTRICTS TO 14,000 SQUARE FEET, <br /> WITH A MINIMUM LOT FRONTAGE OF 90 FEET, IN ORDER TO PROTECT <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS SUCH AS STEEP SLOPES, PRESERVATION OF TREES, <br /> AND WETLANDS. MARY EBERLEY SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br /> 6-0. <br /> MARLY GLINES MOVED THE STEERING COMMITTEE RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL CONSIDER INCREASING THE MINIMUM LOT SIZE IN R1C (SINGLE FAMILY <br /> RESIDENTIAL) ZONING DISTSRICTS TO 11,000 SQUARE FEET WITH A 13,000 SQUARE <br /> FOOT AVERAGE LOT SIZE. CHRIS KREGER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> MARY EBERLEY MOVED THE STEERING COMMITTEE RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL CONSIDER CHANGING THE ZONING DESIGNATION OF PROPERTIES <br /> CURRENTLY ZONED R1B TO R1C, AND TO CHANGE CERTAIN R1C ZONED <br /> PROPERTIES TO R1 D, AS DETERMINED APPROPRIATE BY THE CITY COUNCIL. DAVE <br /> ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> Discussion of rear setbacks in residential zoning districts. <br /> MARLY GLINES MOVED THE STEERING COMMITTEE RECOMMEND THE PLANNING <br /> COMMISSION CONSIDER CHANGING THE REAR SETBACK REQUIREMENT IN ALL <br /> RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS FROM THE EXISTING TEN (10) FOOT REQUIREMENT <br /> TO THIRTY-FIVE (35) FEET. DAVE ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br /> MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> Urban Service Area in the Southeastern Portion of the City <br /> Chris Kreger suggested that the urban service boundary be expanded <br /> eastward, leaving the zoning designation as it currently exists. He also suggested <br /> requiring sewer and water overlays for developments in this area. He stated he <br /> felt it was necessary to establish these boundaries now, even though there are <br /> no plans to extend services, to provide for orderly development in the future. <br /> The possibility of rezoning portions of the southeastern Rl a district to A-1 <br /> Agricultural was discussed. <br />
