<br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />December 17, 1984 <br />Page Eight <br /> <br />joint comparable worth study as proposed would cost the City of Elk River approxi- <br />mately $3,750, and further indicated that should the City pursue the comparable worth <br />study on its own, it could cost approximately $10,000 to $15,000. <br /> <br />CouncilmemberDuitsman questioned what cities would be participating in the joint <br />comparable worth study and if there were any other outstate cities that would <br />form a joint effort in accomplishing a comparable worth study. <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that he knew of no other joint comparable worth <br />studies being done, other than the joint study as proposed by the Coalition of <br />Outs tate Cities and the Metro Cities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gunkel indicated that the proposal as submitted by the Control Data <br />Corporation would provide for the study to be an ongoing process. <br /> <br />Councilmember Duitsman indicated that he had a problem with the joint comparable <br />worth study being accomplished with the Metro Citiep. <br /> <br />Discussion was carried on reg~rding the proposal by the Control Data <br />and how the joint comparable worth study would be accompltshed. THE MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />19. 218th Avenue Improvement Project and Winter Maintenance <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle indicated that some time ago, the City Council was approached by the <br />residents of 218th Avenue requesting that the City improve the road to an acceptable <br />gravel standard and to accept the road for uwnership and maintenance. Mayor Hinkle <br />indicated that the residents were informed that if the necessary easements for right- <br />of-way were granted and all of the homeowners affected by the cost would sign a <br />petition asking for the improvement and agreeing to waive their rights to a public <br />hearing, the City would proceed with the proj ecL Mayor Hinkle indicated that the <br />City Administrator has received the documents as required. Mayor Hinkle indicated <br />that two of the six properties have been excluded for assessment even though the <br />properties abut 218th. Mayor Hinkle indicated that the properties do not benefit <br />
