<br /> <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />Septe ber 17, 1984 <br />Page <br /> <br /> <br />C uncilmember Duitsman indicated that the City Council approved a 20% assessment <br />o the sewer interceptor cost anticipating the bonds to be paid for through <br />s wer hookup charges. <br /> <br />F rther discussion was carried on regarding the financing of the Planned Unit <br />D velopment, tax increment financing and the possibility of a water tower. <br />Councilmember Gunkel indicated that she would like to have time to consider the <br />comments and thoughts heard, and therefore was not ready to vote at this time. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED TO CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE POLLACK ZONE <br />CHANGE REQUEST UNTIL THE OCTOBER 1, 1984 CITY COUNCIL MEETING. COUNCILMEMBER <br />GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />7. O'Chocki Variance Request - Public Hearing <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Schuldt indicated that Mr. Michael O'Chocki of 15463 89th Street <br />Northeast, Otsego Township, has requested a variance for property he owns at <br />10460 181st Avenue Northwest, to allow him to construct a metal-skinned building <br />a distance of 400 feet from a neighboring residence. Acting Mayor Schuldt in- <br />dicated that the Planning Commission considered Mr. O'Chocki's request at <br />their meeting, and unanimously recommended that the variance request be. granted <br />with the provision that the building not be used for the storage of livestock <br />and/or poultry. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Schuldt opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. George Carlson indicated that he was a resident on 181st Avenue N.W., and <br />further indicated that he did not have a problem with the O'Chocki variance re- <br />quest. Mr. Rick Breezee indieated that there were rumbrsthat Mr. O'Chocki <br />intended the building to be used for a machine shop. Mr. Breezee indicated that <br />that was not the intent of Mr. O'Chocki, and further indicated that he would have <br />to obtain a conditional use permit for a home occupation should that happen. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE A VARIANCE REQUEST BY MR. MICHAEL O'CHOCKI <br />FOR THE PROPERTY AT 10460 181ST AVENUE N.W. TO CONSTRUCT A METAL-SKINNED AGRI- <br />CULTURAL BUILDING WITH THE CONDITION THAT NO ANIMALS OR LIVESTOCK WOULD BE HOUSED <br />IN THE BUILDING. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />8. Langbehn Variance Request - Public Hearing <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Schuldt indicated that Mr. Ron Langbehn of 10616 175th Avenue N.W. <br />is requesting a variance to allow him to construct a pole barn within the <br />required 600 feet to a neighboring resident. Acting Mayor Schuldt indicated <br />that Mr. Langbehn proposes to use the metal-skinned building for hay storage <br />and machinery storage, and further indicated that the Planning Commission voted <br />unanimously to recommend approval of the variance request. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Schuldt opened the public hearine. <br />
